Customers rave about our friendly, helpful people. We always put service over sales. Whether you walk in or call, you’ll be immediately connected to a real person who can help you, instead of dealing with an automated voice or being passed around. And we hire to build decades-long careers, which means you usually see the same people, who know your name and know how to help you.

You’ll need to set up direct deposit with your employer (or whomever is paying you). They will typically provide you with a direct deposit form, which will require your account number and our routing number (which is 114921949). You can find both printed at the bottom of your SSB&T checks. You may also need to provide them with a voided check or deposit slip. We have multiple options for overdraft protection.
- All our checking accounts automatically come with Overdraft Coverage, which means we will strive to cover checks and ACH payments that overdraw your account (at our discretion) until you can cover them. While there is no monthly or annual fee, we will charge $30 each time you overdraw. You will never be charged if you never overdraw.
- You can also opt in to Overdraft Coverage PLUS, which strives to cover everyday debit transactions as well as checks and ACH payments. Again, the fee is $30 any time you overdraw, but you will never be charged if you never overdraw.
- Our recommended option is Overdraft Transfer, where you connect your checking account with another account, such as a savings account. This gives us permission to cover any overdrawn expenses using funds from your other account. It will only cost $7 each time we need to facilitate a transaction like this. There are no other fees for Overdraft Transfer.
Learn more about overdraft protection on our personal checking page.
If your finances are tight and you’re worried about overdrawing, we recommend our free financial literacy courses.
